A solution, however, seems to have been found by the good people at Match.com in a survey that they carried out regarding online dating's effect on how likely online daters are to get married.
Online dating is seen as a haven for those looking for a spouse. While sex dates and hookups are also a possibility, a survey carried out by Match.com in the United States found that 93% of singles who do online dating are interested in finding someone to settle down with. It may indeed be a shocking statistic: but it's really not that unbelievable. This is especially true when you look at the landscape of dating over the last decade.
Take a look at how online dating began and now look at the likes of dating apps such as Tinder. There is clearly a vast number of people who are looking for that special someone. Those who are sick of people asking why they're still alone, but are still hesitant about online dating, can also enjoy some good news. In 2013, the National Academy of Sciences discovered that a third of marriages in the US started with online dating. Such marriages also had less of a chance of ending up in divorce.
